Suddenly i don’t get the meaning of homosexuality anymore. Homo Sapiens is all humans but homosexuality is referring to sexual practices between people of the same sex only, mostly males. Was the name invented because sexuality was considered a masculine activity anyway? Later on lesbianism came into use as women proofed to be sexual beings that also could have sex without men. I do understand that sexuality has developed from procreation into many different forms of genital communication and as this evolution progressed people used words to express the diversity of possible forms to invent more and also to forbid more. But now when the word sex is used a vast majority of people most of the time don’t think of making children. They think of genital interaction in all possible forms and this is why i don’t see the necessity of the word homosexuality anymore. People should be free again to develop their own personal sexuality. Therefor splitting sex up in female and male sexuality is also inadequate; all people have a different way of expressing their need for sex and are a mixture of male and female. You don’t even need a partner to enjoy sex and it’s also possible to enjoy not to have sex and keep to fantasies. Time to redefine old theoretical models once again.
